Romantic Spring Style

STYLE

Romance is in the air. But don’t worry, this isn’t just about having a SO. This season, Ashley from Two Peas in a Prada shows us how to wear the romantic trend.

“I’ve never met a figure flattering dress I didn’t like. A pale blush and romantic figure flattering dress? Well, that’s just icing on the cake.

Romance is always something people talk about on Valentine’s Days or anniversaries. But I believe in finding something romantic in each and every day. This can be in something you wear, something you read, something you watch, or something you do with your significant other.

I haven’t always been your typical hopeless romantic, but I do love me some romance. Ever since I was young, I have always tied romance and clothes together — isn’t that weird? In every movie, every show, every book — the clothes are what I remember. I remember exactly what Carrie Bradshaw was wearing when she went on her first date with Big, Gwyneth’s gold dress in Shakespeare in Love, the way Daisy cried over Gatsby’s shirts, and who could forget Baby’s pale pink dress for her finale in Dirty Dancing? Maybe it’s just me, but the clothes are just as much a part of the happy ending as the love story itself. That’s why when I saw the pleated details and cut-out lace hem, I had to have this dress. What I love most about this dress is that it’s not trendy. It’s beautiful. It’s classic. It’s timeless. It makes you feel good. Just like a good romance!

If pink isn’t your thing, there are still plenty of ways to rock this romantic trend. You can always try playing around with chiffon. Mixing in a sheer layering piece to your outfit. Wear frothy fabrics that look like they were meant to be touched. Add in ruffles, layers, voluminous sleeves, high necks, bows, and ties. I have been playing around with a few of these trends recently and it’s such a fun way to experiment with a style that’s not necessarily you. I’m definitely more dark and edgy in my day to day life, but I do love changing things up and playing with different colors and textures I wouldn’t always wear in my day to day life. The risk is usually worth it!

So what are you waiting for — grab your man, or woman, or newest Bumble match and throw on your most romantic outfit and hit the town! If you’re extra corny like me, you’ll listen to Moonriver while you get ready. You can thank me later.”
