Guest Dressed: Natalie Off Duty Shows Us How to Wear 1 Bodysuit, 3 Ways

Guest Dressed is a new series where we ask some of the best dressed (get it?) girls out there to help us demystify some of the trickiest trends of the season. These ladies are influencers in every sense of the word—from lifestyle, fashion, food and more, they’ve nailed a look and are serving their personal brand in spades. Who better to help us shop the best looks out there?

We called on Natalie Lim Suarez—aka Natalie Off Duty—the NYC-based model, singer and blogger, to take a bright persimmon bodysuit and work it every which way. Below, Natalie deftly demonstrates that bodysuits might just be the most versatile piece in your closet.

First things first, allow me to introduce myself: I’m Natalie Lim Suarez, I’m a NYC based model, and also the editor of NATALIEOFFDUTY.COM, a fashion, beauty, lifestyle website based on what I like to call the “model off duty” style. “Model off duty” style is effortless. It’s chic, it’s cool, it looks like it was thrown together in two minutes. It’s like you just pulled something out of your suitcase and, somehow, it just works. NATALIE OFF DUTY also doubles as my personal diary. I use my writing and photography to visually inspire.

I’m currently on the plane from NYC to LA—right smack dab in the middle of New York Fashion Week. These past few days have felt like nothing but insanity, but I still stop and smile, savoring every single hectic moment. I savor the fun, the chaos, and even the bright and early call times. And I still have Milan and Paris to go! Time to recharge and hit the power button.

That’s why I’m here to talk about the one and only bodysuit. It’s the epitome of “off duty” style. With all of the traveling that I do for work, I use layering as my way of getting by from city to city.  The right bodysuit doubles as both a beautiful pop of color and also the most perfect layering piece. It makes packing so much easier and getting dressed 10 times faster. Here’s how to nail it:

Look 1: The Bodysuit Under the White Shirt

A mock turtleneck under a white shirt isn’t leaving the runway anytime soon. This trend is absolutely timeless. I took the red One Eleven Mock Neck bodysuit to add a little pop of color to the oversize O-ring tunic. Always keep things belted for a super feminine, flattering fit on the waistline. Cool enough for a morning meeting or a work dinner.

Look 2: The Bodysuit Under a Tube Top

The beauty of a tube top is that it can be thrown over just about any lightweight top. I took the twist front tube top and layered it over my bodysuit. This play on color blocking feels fresh and unique. I kept it sporty with a wide leg trouser and my favorite pair of sneakers.

Look 3: The Bodysuit On it’s Own with a Classic Pant or Trousers

It’s amazing what simplicity can do. This look hugs my body in all the right places. I kept things extra minimal and just added in a little pop of color in my vintage pair of sunglasses. This look is perfect for date or night or simply strolling Soho on a chic Friday afternoon. Sometimes, less really is more!

So tell me, which look is your favorite?
