10 INCH PLAID FLAT FRONT SHORTS
great light weigt shorts
I put off buying a pair of plaid shorts two summers ago when it seemed like they were "a thing." Thought they were a bit too gaudy. I ended up buying these because of the grayscale color palette (a little less gaudy but still catchy) and the combination of small scale pattern (houndstooth) and large scale (plaid). The shorts are light weight and the pattern makes wrinkles (they're cotton after all) subtle even after wearing them all day.
They run a bit large, compared to previous years' patterns. Kinda wish Express had kept the photographer / producer labels in how their patterns differ, but maybe they stopped having as big of a difference now. Still not sure what a lennox pair fits like... Here are the measurements for a pair of 30s
17" lay-flat waist (about an inch wider than current photographer pants)
19.25 outer seam
10.25 rise (so they aren't quite low-rise, definitely more producer cut than photographer, using last summer's nomenclature)
10" leg opening (which is similar to the "photographer" shorts of last summer).
